Goodbye Plastic Water Bottles
Budget: $2498

Our Green Club’s goal is to drastically reduce the single-use plastic waste at our school by providing custom reusable water bottles to our school community. These reusable bottles can be filled quickly at bottle fillers throughout our school, eliminating the need for single-use plastic water bottles.

This campaign will be led by our student-run Green Club, a group of students mindful of their impact on the environment. In this project, our Green Club will focus on eliminating single-use plastic waste at our school by reducing our school community’s use of single-use plastic water bottles. They will promote within our school community the importance of minimizing single-use plastic waste. Students will design custom water bottles and members of our school community will be able to trade single-use water bottles for a reusable water bottle. These reusable bottles can be quickly filled at several bottle filler stations throughout our school, eliminating the need for single-use plastic water bottles. Through this project, students will learn about water quality and conservation, plastic pollution and its effects on our lakes, oceans and wildlife and the amount of resources and energy used to create single-use plastics. This project will bring awareness to single-use plastics including water bottles, encouraging our school community to take action to significantly reduce our school’s single-use plastic waste and be mindful in their daily choices to reduce waste at school, home and in our community.
