New York, NY (March 24, 2009) —Recyclebank®, the premier recycling rewards program, has joined forces with Allied Waste Services to dramatically increase household recycling rates in St. Joseph, MN. St. Joe residents are the first in the St. Cloud area to get rewarded for recycling, with over 1,500 households currently signed up to participate.

Recyclebank’s valuable incentive program enables households to earn rewards in the form of Recyclebank Points for recycling. Similar to frequent flyer programs, the more a household recycles, the more Points they earn. Households can redeem Recyclebank Points for groceries, gift cards and much more at over 1,400 brand name national and local retailers across the country. Participating retailers include CVS Pharmacy, Dial, Kraft Foods, Dole, and, as well as local St. Joseph retailers, including Cub Foods, Mongo’s Grill, The Local Blend and Metro Plumbing and Heating, Inc. Participants can also convert their rewards into donations for select charitable organizations, local school environmental programs and non-profit organizations. On average, Recyclebank households can earn hundreds of dollars annually in reward value for their recycling efforts.

“By matching our state-of-the-art single stream facilities with Recyclebank’s creative incentive program, we create a great opportunity that can benefit our customers, the participating retailers and, ultimately, the environment,” said Jamie Phenow, Division Manager Allied Waste Services of Sauk Rapids. “We are thrilled to keep our partnership growing throughout St Cloud Area by offering our St. Joe customers a meaningful rewards program, especially during these tough economic times.”

By encouraging households to recycle with the added incentive of Recyclebank rewards, Allied Waste Services collects more recyclables, reducing waste otherwise destined for landfills. The single-stream program means that households can place all acceptable recycling material in the same cart; no more sorting.

”Recyclebank’s mission is to increase household recycling rates across the country and divert as much as possible from landfills,” said Ron Gonen, co-founder and CEO of Recyclebank. “We are proud to partner with Allied Waste and bring the residents of the City of St. Joseph an environmental solution with great economic value.”

Recyclebank currently services households across 18 states. By cumulative recycling efforts, those households collectively have saved over 95 million gallons of oil and over 1.4 million trees.

St. Joseph’s residents will begin earning Recyclebank rewards for their recycling efforts on April 2.
