Earn Recyclebank Points for Cleaning Up and Making Room in Your Home or Business

NEW YORK – January 19, 2010 – In an effort to encourage people to take small and easy steps towards greener lifestyles, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, the junk removal company that is helping residents and businesses everywhere regain space, today announced that they have joined forces with Recyclebank, a rewards program that motivates people to recycle. Starting today, this unique partnership allows residents in over 150 Southern New Jersey and Delaware communities to earn Recyclebank Points for proper junk removal. Both companies, committed to promoting responsible green actions, will roll out Phase 2 of this program in April as a national effort to divert from landfill and dispose of waste properly.

“Our partnership with Recyclebank is critical to our success as a company that places a priority on environmental stewardship,” says 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Strategic Account Manager, Martin Stewart, adding, “Our customers have told us how important responsible junk removal is to them, and we’re listening.”

I-800-GOT-JUNK? hauls consumers’ goods and, wherever possible recycles or donates items to thrift stores and charitable organizations. With service to both residential and commercial markets, truck teams may be spotted hefting old junk from a neighbor’s attic, removing leftover items from a commercial storage locker, or clearing renovation debris from a construction site.

Recyclebank started in 2004 as a rewards company that motivates households to recycle. Today, Recyclebank also rewards consumers for their green choices and ability to take action, like choosing 1-800-GOT-JUNK? for junk removal. An important part of what Recyclebank does is letting consumers know that there is an economic value to taking an environmentally smart action.

“Recyclebank has been successfully rewarding people for their recycling efforts since 2005,” said Ron Gonen, CEO and co-founder of Recyclebank. “Extending the vision of our rewards program by keeping even more materials from landfills with our relationship with 1-800-GOT-JUNK? is a great fit for our members and a natural next step.”

Today Recyclebank services more than one million people across 24 states and in the U.K. By cumulative recycling efforts, those households have saved close to 285 million gallons of oil and more than 4 million trees.

Recyclebank® motivates people to recycle and rewards consumers for taking greener actions with points that can be redeemed from participating local and national business partners. Through collaboration and innovation, Recyclebank is helping to create a culture that encourages people to take simple steps towards greener lifestyles. With new products and services like residential recycling, product reuse, expanded e-waste recycling, responsible disposal or simply focusing on using what already exists in the world today, we believe that making greener choices shouldn’t feel at all like a trade off. It should be a trade up, and so Recyclebank rewards you every step of the way. Recyclebank currently provides service to over one million people across the U.S. and the U.K. and has been recognized with a number of business and environmental awards, including being named as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum and as a Champion of the Earth by the United Nations Environmental Programme.
