NEW YORK—TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2011—Recyclebank, the company that rewards people for taking everyday green actions with discounts and deals from local and national businesses, today announced that Preston Read, senior vice president of government affairs, will moderate the session, “Groundbreaking Innovations in Packaging Recovery,” at the Sustainability Summit. The annual event hosted by the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), working together as the Trading Partner Alliance (TPA), brings together retailers, manufacturers, government and advocacy groups to showcase successful business implementations of environmentally responsible policy and best practices.

In this engaging panel discussion, Read will lead panelists from the Coca-Cola Company®, Sunny Delight Beverages Company, Henkel Consumer Goods Inc. and Curbside Value Partnership in discussing the impact consumer packaged goods (CPGs) have on the environment and the critical role companies play in not only making packaging more environmentally friendly, but also increasing consumer recycling rates. As part of this discussion, the executives from Recyclebank and The Coca-Cola Company will address the companies’ longstanding partnership to motivate consumers to increase household recycling rates.

At Recyclebank, Read manages partnerships with both the public and private sectors. This includes liaising with state environmental agencies, regional municipalities and other government entities such as the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the International City Management Association, and national and international environmental NGOs to promote positive environmental behavior and recycling programs across the nation.
