Mayor Pro Tem Nelda Martinez, along with City Officials and Pride Corpus Christi, join RecycleBank and Ziploc in hosting a press conference to encourage residents to sign up with RecycleBank and to explain the City’s new recycling program, Corpus Christi Recycles. A sample of local businesses participating in the RecycleBank rewards program will also be on hand (Peerless Cleaners, Gill Landscape Nursery, Aveda Institute, Funtrackers, Popeye’s Chicken and Biscuits, and Papa Johns).

The press conference will showcase the new Corpus Christi Recycles program, provide information on what’s now recyclable, debut the new recycling truck, and give a demonstration on signing up with In addition, RecycleBank partner Ziploc will be on hand to announce its commitment to Corpus Christi. Ziploc is working with RecycleBank to educate and inspire Corpus Christi families to make a positive impact on their community, environment, and future by diverting more individual waste from landfills.

Corpus Christi is in the process of delivering new Smart Carts to residents gearing up for the launch Corpus Christi Recycles at the end of the month. The program includes the larger recycling carts, the switch to single-stream recycling, and the ability to earn rewards for recycling through RecycleBank.
