Recyclebank has been selected by the World Economic Forum as a 2009 Technology Pioneer. Recyclebank earned this distinction in the energy and environment category. Technology Pioneers are recognized for their accomplishments as innovators of the highest caliber and are companies with technologies that will have a deep impact on business and society.

Currently, Recyclebank is servicing communities in 15 states. To date, Recyclebank households have diverted over 60,000 tons of recyclables.

To be selected as a Technology Pioneer, a company must be involved in the development of life-changing technology innovation and have the potential for long-term impact on business and society. In addition, it must demonstrate visionary leadership and show all the signs of being a long-standing market leader - and its technology must be proven.
