Seashore Learning Center Receives $1,500 Grant for Orchard

Written by KIII-TV

Kids at the Seashore Learning Center on the Island received some big news Friday. They were presented with a check for $1,500 from Recyclebank.

Recyclebank does recycling for the city.

The students actually asked residents to donate their recycling points so they could collect the $1,500. That money will go toward building an orchard at the school.

The students worked to make compost bins out of recycled paper, and they planted an orange tree. The oranges will be given out to the kids as snacks.
