CORPUS CHRISTI - The city is partnering up with some businesses to encourage the community to recycle by earning rewards.

Today representatives from Recyclebank and Ziploc were at local HEB grocery stores spreading the word about the new recycling program.

Residents who sign up can earn rewards like grocery's and restaurant gift certificates.

You can also get rewarded by dropping off clean and dry zip-lock bags in recycling bins located at participating HEBs.

"A lot of people have already signed up, and our team is helping people sign up who might not have known about the program. The program has been out for two weeks and already there's been a three times lift in recycling," said Alexa Bell, with Recyclebank.
