Recycle and Earn Vouchers on School Supplies

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Recycle Bank customers are now getting back to school vouchers to do their shopping.

Allied waste and Recycle Bank have been partnering to pick up recycle bins in metro neighborhoods.

Special technology on the bin weighs how much a person is recycling, then rewards the family with points based on the amount recycled.

The family will get vouchers in the mail to different businesses for great discounts.

Robert Gensch, the midwest manager for Recycle Bank says "on average we are finding that most communities have an increase of 10 to 15 percent, but some like Maple Grove and Eden Prairie have doubled recycling rates based on having the incentives to recycle."

Some examples of the deals from now until September 4th are customers get back to school savings like a dollar off Yoplait variety cups.

Also at Scholastic store, 20 percent off books games and educational toys. And for the school lunch, a dollar off one jar of Dole fruit.
