During the school year, students will propose a green project designed to improve their school or community.
After we’ve selected the Top 50 plans, Recyclebank members can donate their points to help make their dreams a reality.
HOW THE GREEN SCHOOLS PROGRAM WORKS
Build a greener school in 4 easy steps
MAKE A PLANEach school* submits an application for a proposal with a budget up to $2,500. All elementary and secondary schools located in communities participating in our recycling rewards program are eligible.
PROMOTE PROJECTSAny Recyclebank member can donate his or her points. Students and teachers are encouraged to tell family and friends to help fund their projects (and to register if they’re not members).
COLLECT DONATIONSWe select the Top 50 proposals and post them to our site, where Recyclebank members can donate their points online. We award $1 for every 250 points*.
RECEIVE FUNDINGSchools will receive a check to fund their projects based on the amount of points they received as donations from Recyclebank members.
Application Period Begins – September 23, 2016 Applications Due – December 11, 2016 Accepted Schools Are Notified – December 12, 2016
- Donation Period Begins – January 9, 2017
- Donation Period Ends – March 15, 2017
- Results Announced and Checks Mailed – April 15, 2017
*Recyclebank reserves the right at any time during the program to change or modify the value per point for the Green Schools Program.
