BRANDYWINE COUNSELING INC

Partner Description:

Brandywine Counseling, Inc. (BCI) is a substance abuse treatment agency that provides counseling and related assistance to addicted persons and their families for chemical addiction and related problems. BCI believes substance abuse is a progressive primary disease that arrests the development and growth of individuals, contributes to economic decline, and impairs ones ability to function as a member of a family and society. All of our programs reflect a holistic model that addresses an individuals thinking, behavior, and lifestyle to prevent relapse. We treat the clients addiction directly, but also the side effects of addiction, such as criminal activity, family violence, child neglect and abuse, infant mortality, and poverty.

Personal growth is a difficult task requiring continued awareness and support from the patients family and/or significant others. BCIs programs provide intervention and treatment through the use of medication, counseling, education, and referral to self-help groups. Appropriate aftercare referrals provide continuing support for the clients recovery.

Since 2003, BCI has worked to improve patient access to and retention in treatment as part of the nationwide Network for Improvement of Addiction Treatment (NIATx) project. We have done this by identifying and improving flawed processes, and without additional costs or staff.
