Jessica Goldbogen Harlan has been fascinated by food and cooking for much of her life, but it wasn't until she went to culinary school that she began appreciating just how much an impact the food industry has on the environment.
Today, her interest in food particularly focuses on sustainable, organic, local and socially-conscious produce, meats and packaged products. She trolls farmer's markets on a weekly basis, is a member of a CSA and staunchly refuses to buy tomatoes in January.
Jessica has written about food for Clean Eating, Arthritis Today, Pilates Style, Gaiam.com and lime.com. She is also the Cooking Equipment Guide for About.com.
Jessica lives in Atlanta with her husband and her 2 1/2-year-old daughter, Sadie, both of whom are an extremely appreciate audience for her culinary experimentation. Follow her foodie exploits on Twitter.
